“Ooo Baby Baby”

We’re PREGNANT!!!!!

Well, The Crew just got a little bigger.  Ok a LOT bigger!  We invited our families over for lunch and surprised them with the news before digging into dessert.  Some had a hunch we were going to announce something since this is pretty much the same scenario as when we announced Kayla being pregnant with Adalyn.  You can see that video here.  But, no one could have guessed that we are having TWINS!  The look on everyone’s faces in the video below are priceless.  We had such a blast having our family over for lunch and sharing this experience with them.  This is going to be a very exciting next few months and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.  Thanks goes out to our loving and supporting family.  We love you all and appreciate everything you do for us.

First Freckle

We recently spotted Adalyn’s first freckle!  It’s adorable.  We brought it to her attention and showed her how Mommy and Daddy have them too.  We continued making a big deal about it, pinching it (playfully), rubbing it, and kissing it.  So now every time we ask her where her freckle is, she pinches it and gives it a big kiss.  So stinkin’ cute!

Tiara Bracelet Thingy

Adalyn pulled off the Tiara that was attached to her princess doll.  When she realized it was too small for her head, she decided it made a fantastic bracelet.  It was adorable.  She wore it all around the house, sticking out her wrist so you could see it as she passed by.  Just like a little princess.  Too funny.

Park Adventure

Yesterday turned out to be a gorgeous day to play outside.  We’ve been hesitant to take Adalyn outdoors too much because every time we do her nose starts to run like a waterfall.  Luckily her nose didn’t bother her once during our little outing.  We arrived at the park around 9AM or so and there wasn’t a soul around.  We felt like we had hit the jack pot.  We had the whole park all to ourselves.  When the first family did finally show up, about 10 minutes later, we asked them if the park is usually this dead.  They told us that no, it’s usually packed by this time, but the Jonquil Festival must be keeping most of the families away.  Adalyn ended up having a blast.  She spent most of her time running around and exploring, looking, and touching every nook and cranny of the playground.  When more kids showed up, she would try running after them, give up, then watch in awe as they run across the swinging bridges, climb up the rock wall, and spin around on the sky whirl.  After a good 30 minutes of non-stop playing, Adalyn looked like she was getting tired.  She managed to “walk” to the car but as soon as her head hit the car seat, she was OUT.  She must have hibernated a good hour and a half afterwards.

A Shorty

Adalyn got Gold Stars across the board at Clinic on Thursday. We’re so proud of her. Addy’s BMI is in the 60th percentile and her lungs sound clear. Oh, and she also got fitted for her vest! Yay! Mommy and Daddy’s arms are celebrating. 🙂 The Respiratory Therapist brought in a couple of adult sized vests so Kayla and I could feel the effects it will have on Adalyn when she starts to use it daily. It was definitly an interesting experience. We’ll be sure to write more about it once we receive the vest and have gone through our official training session.

Could Just Eat Her Up

Adalyn’s Clinic Appointment is only about two weeks away.  Mommy and Daddy tend to get excited the closer the big day gets.  We really start keeping a close eye on her breathing, eating, and…yes, pooping.  This next visit will be a pretty big deal.  With the exception of the last cold she caught, Adalyn has pretty much been off all medications.  OK, we’re currently weaning her off Prilosec, but other than that we’re only giving her CPT treatments and vitamins.  SO AWESOME!  As far as we can tell, she’s thriving.  Her goal weight for this visit is 21 lbs.  Heck, she’s already hit 21.4 lbs on our scale at home (which never seems to match the hospital’s)!  We can only keep doing what we’re doing and hope we get the green light at the next visit.

This week, she’s been very vocal.  Adalyn has started to repeat just about anything she hears and she’s even started to sing!  Well, it’s more of a loud hum hum hum, but she really nails the melody.  🙂  Let’s see…Oh, Addy loves it when you chase her.  She’ll get in a ready-to-run position and then as soon as she sees us start to come after her, she’ll throw her arms up in the air and screech with excitement.  Love it!  She has tried her hand at using utensils when eating.  But so far she doesn’t see the big deal.  It doesn’t take long before she throws the spoon on the floor with the rest of the unwanted food. Adalyn has also started these laughing fits.  It’s hilarious.  Mommy or Daddy will do something totally random and Adalyn will think it’s the funniest thing in the world and just laugh and laugh.  Which, in turn, makes Mommy and Daddy laugh so hard.

We just adore her.
