Adalyn is 6

Adalyn is now a big 6 year old!  She loves riding her bike (without training wheels), swimming, and all things arts and crafts.  She’s also already reading chapter books like a pro.  We’re so proud of this little angel and look forward to what the future holds for her.  Oh yea, and the tooth fairy has been very good to her lately.  Notice those two bottom teeth missing?  I could have sworn she just grew them!?

Hunter is 4

I know we say it every time we post birthday pics but, man, where does the time go?!  I swear we blinked and Hunter is now 4 years old.  We just can’t believe it.  But, we’re so proud of the little boy he’s become.  Currently, he’s into all things Mario Bros. and Super Heroes.  His favorite character is actually Luigi (I think because Hunter’s favorite color is green…).  He is super athletic, always jumping or running across the furniture or from room to room, doing handstands off the couch, and generally doing anything that would give one of us a heart attack.  He loves playing on mommy or daddy’s phone and has gotten really good at Mario Cart 8 on Wii U.  Hunter, you brighten our lives every day.  You have a great future ahead of you and we’re looking forward to watching you grow into the man you’ll become.  🙂

Snow Angels

What was predicted to be a light dusting of snow ended up being over 9 inches! We were super glad that it came late Friday afternoon after everyone was home safe and sound. The kids had an absolute blast sledding down the neighborhood hills on the sleds we bought last year.  Oh, and Adalyn may have even caught some air on one of the hills with a built in snow ramp.  Videos are below.

The First Dose

We received a VERY special package today and I don’t think the UPS driver appreciated just how precious a package he was delivering.  🙂  We are beyond thrilled to announce that tonight Adalyn will be taking her first dose of KALYDECO.  So what exactly is KALYDECO?  It’s a prescription medicine that “…helps the ‘gates’ open more often, allowing more chloride ions to move into and out of the cells. The movement of chloride ions may help keep a balance of salt and water in the lungs.”  Patients who take KALYDECO typically see a substantial increase in lung function, less coughing, less mucus, less trouble breathing, and an increase in weight.  Can you say miracle drug?!  We’re so very thankful to all of our friends and family who have donated to the CF Foundation during our fundraising efforts.  Your donations drive much of the research behind the development of drugs like this.  We also want to send a big SHOUT OUT to our friends at the CF Foundation for all their efforts in this battle.  With fine folks like that in our corner, I’m certain a cure is in Adalyn’s future.

Soccer Stars

The kids just wrapped up a week of Soccer camp.  They had an absolute BLAST.  Huge shout out to Granna for being such a great team Grandmother.  🙂
